ChangeTower Alternatives for Marketing, CI and Compliance Teams

ChangeTower is a solid page monitor with AI monitoring, keyword tracking and role-based permissions on every plan. Teams usually look for a ChangeTower alternative for one of three reasons: they need checks more often than hourly, they need Slack or webhooks without jumping to the 78 USD Business plan, or they need history longer than six months. This guide compares ChangeTower with WebsiteChange, Distill.io and Visualping on those points, using each vendor's public pricing page, so you can shortlist in ten minutes and test on your own pages.
The short answer
If ChangeTower's daily or hourly checks are fast enough and you watch up to 200 pages, staying put is reasonable. If you need checks every 15 minutes or faster, explained alerts routed to several teams, or years of version history, WebsiteChange is built for that. If you are one person who wants local browser checks or pages behind a login, Distill.io is cheaper and fits better. Visualping is the common pick when visual screenshot comparison matters most.
What ChangeTower offers today
ChangeTower's pricing page lists five plans. Free watches 3 pages daily. Lite is 12 USD per month for 25 pages checked every 24 hours. Essential is 36 USD per month for 100 pages with hourly checks and section-level monitoring. Business is 78 USD per month for 200 pages, hourly checks, element-level monitoring, Slack, webhooks and scheduled email reports. Enterprise is custom priced and adds SSO, multiple workspaces and full page archiving. Yearly billing takes 20 percent off.
Snapshot history runs 30 days on Free and Lite, 60 days on Essential and 6 months on Business. Team members are capped at 1, 3 and 5 extra people on Lite, Essential and Business. Those limits are where most switching conversations start.

Visualping is left out of the table because its plans are structured differently, by checks per month, and are best read on its own pricing page. Our visualping alternative page covers it point by point.
WebsiteChange for teams that need speed and history
WebsiteChange is a paid, cloud-only monitor for teams. Every check stores a full-page screenshot and the text of the page, filters out dates, counters, cookie bars and tracking parameters, and only then compares. When something real changed, an AI model writes one sentence such as "Pro plan raised from 79 to 99 USD per month, annual discount removed" and scores it low, medium or high.
That score is what makes routing work. Product marketing can get every change on competitor pricing pages, legal can get high changes on vendor terms, and leadership can get a Friday digest per team. On Growth, those alerts can go to email, Slack, Microsoft Teams or a webhook. The website change alert page shows how routes and digests are set.
Where WebsiteChange costs more
At the low end, ChangeTower and Distill.io are cheaper per page. A solo user watching 20 pages daily will pay less with either. WebsiteChange's Starter plan makes sense once hourly checks, element watching on every page, explained alerts and six months of history matter more than the lowest monthly figure.
Where WebsiteChange does less
We read public pages only. We do not log in, run custom clicks before a check, solve CAPTCHAs or bypass access controls. If you monitor customer portals or pages behind a paywall, ChangeTower's custom user interactions or Distill.io will serve you better.
Distill.io for individuals and private pages
Distill.io is the budget pick and the most flexible for one person. Its browser extension and desktop app check pages locally as often as every few seconds, it runs macros before a check, sends SMS alerts and watches pages behind a login. The tradeoffs are short version history, 10 to 20 changes per monitor on paid plans, and team features such as shared watchlists that sit on the Enterprise plan. We wrote a full Distill.io alternative comparison if that is the tool you are weighing.
Which alternative fits which team
Product marketing and competitive intelligence
You watch 30 to 300 competitor pricing, feature and changelog pages and need to brief sales quickly. Explained alerts and Slack routing matter more than per-page price. WebsiteChange Growth at 99 USD per month billed yearly covers 250 pages at 15 minute checks. Our guide to competitor price monitoring shows a typical watchlist.
Ecommerce and pricing teams
You need prices and stock status as data, not just a changed paragraph. WebsiteChange extracts price and stock on Growth and up and exports CSV or sends a webhook to your pricing tool. ChangeTower and Distill.io report the changed content but do not list price extraction.
Legal, procurement and compliance
You need a dated record of what a vendor's terms or a regulator's page said, sometimes years later. ChangeTower keeps 6 months on Business. WebsiteChange keeps 2 years on Growth, 5 years on Business and unlimited on Enterprise, with every version searchable.
Agencies
You manage pages for many clients and need separate spaces. WebsiteChange includes 3 workspaces on Growth and 15 on Business. ChangeTower puts multi-workspace setup on Enterprise.
How to switch from ChangeTower without losing coverage
1. Export your page list from ChangeTower and paste the URLs into WebsiteChange, one per line.
2. Recreate element monitors by clicking the same block on our snapshot or pasting a CSS selector.
3. Set the schedule per page group, hourly for pricing pages and 15 minutes for stock pages.
4. Add ignore rules for anything that triggered false alerts in ChangeTower.
5. Run both tools in parallel for one billing period, then compare how many alerts led to real action.
Your ChangeTower snapshots stay in ChangeTower. Download any you need for records before you cancel, because a new tool starts its history from its own first check.
One note while you review your monitors: if some of them exist only to tell you when a site goes down, that is a different job. Change monitors check every few minutes at best, while uptime monitoring checks every few seconds and pages the on-call engineer.
