Website monitoring for agencies, with a workspace for every client
Agencies answer for websites they do not fully control. A client's developer changes a title tag, someone in marketing deletes a landing page, a plugin update rewrites the footer, and the agency finds out when rankings drop. WebsiteChange gives SEO, marketing and web agencies website monitoring built around clients: one workspace per client, alerts on the edits that hurt results, and a PDF change report ready for the next client update.
One workspace per client
Each client gets its own workspace with its own monitors, alert rules, history and people. Nothing from one client shows up in another client's view, and you can hand a client team member access to their own workspace only.
- Growth includes 3 workspaces, which suits a consultant or a small agency with a few retainers.
- Business includes 15 workspaces, with roles, SSO and an audit log.
- Enterprise includes unlimited workspaces for agencies with a long client roster.
Pages, checks and AI summaries are counted across the account per billing period, so you can give a large client more pages and a small client fewer.
Catch unexpected edits on client sites
The most common agency use is watching the client's own site for changes nobody told you about.
A typical summary reads "Title changed from Commercial Roofing Services in Denver to Roofing Services; meta description removed", scored high importance and sent to the account lead's Slack channel. The agency fixes it before the next crawl instead of after the next report.
For the mechanics of what counts as a change, see website change detection.
- Changed titles and meta descriptions on key landing pages.
- Changed canonical tags, robots meta tags and headings, which WebsiteChange compares as part of the HTML structure.
- Removed pages, where a monitored URL starts returning an error or redirects elsewhere.
- Edited copy on money pages, such as a pricing page or a service page that ranks well.
- Changed tracking or consent elements in the visible page, when you watch that element.
Competitor watch as a client service
Clients ask what their competitors are doing. With a workspace per client, the agency can watch each client's main competitors as part of the retainer.
- Competitor pricing and offer pages, with an importance score on every change.
- New service and location pages, which often show a competitor's SEO plan.
- Competitor job listings and press pages for wider context.
A weekly digest per client becomes a ready section of the monthly call notes. For a full approach, see monitor competitors and competitor tracker.
PDF change reports for client updates
On Growth and up, you can produce a PDF change report for a workspace and a period. It lists each change with its summary, importance and date, with screenshots of the before and after state. Agencies use it in three ways.
- A monthly section in the client report showing what changed on their site and on competitor sites.
- A record that a damaging edit came from the client side, with the date it appeared.
- A handover document when a new account manager takes over.
CSV export is there for agencies that build their own reports, and the API on Growth and up feeds client dashboards. Older versions stay searchable in website archive tools.
Roles for agency teams and client users
Agency teams change often, and clients sometimes want to see the monitors themselves. Business and Enterprise include roles, so an account manager can edit monitors in their clients' workspaces while a client user only reads. SSO and an audit log show who changed which monitor and when. Growth includes 10 seats, Business 30 and Enterprise unlimited seats.
Only public pages, read responsibly
WebsiteChange watches publicly reachable pages, respects robots.txt and spaces requests per host. It never logs in to a client's CMS or analytics, never solves CAPTCHAs and never bypasses access controls. Staging sites behind a password are outside what it monitors.
Yes. Invite the client user to their workspace with a read role on Business or Enterprise, and they see only that client's monitors and history.
Growth suits up to three client workspaces. Business with 15 workspaces and roles suits most agencies, and Enterprise removes the workspace limit.
The PDF change report lists the workspace, the period and every change. It does not replace your own reporting template, and you can export CSV to build one.
Yes, when they change in the monitored page. Title, meta tags and headings are part of the stored HTML structure and are compared on every check.
Set up your first client workspace
Run the demo on a client's key landing page to see the first snapshot, then add workspaces for the rest of your roster.
