Competitor price monitoring that only speaks up when a price moves

Competitor price monitoring is simple to describe and tedious to do: know the moment a rival changes what it charges. WebsiteChange watches the pricing pages and product pages you choose, pulls out the prices, keeps a dated price history for each page and alerts you only when a price or a plan actually changes. It handles competitor price tracking for SaaS pricing pages and ecommerce product pages alike.

Price moves come in more shapes than a new number

A competitor rarely announces a price change. It just edits the page. The edit can take several forms, and each one matters to a different person on your team.

Because each check stores the full text, structure and screenshot of the page, WebsiteChange can catch all of these, and the AI summary names what kind of move it is.

  • A list price goes up or down. "Pro plan raised from 79 to 99 USD per month" changes every comparison your sellers make.
  • A discount appears or disappears. Removing an annual discount is a price increase for most buyers, even when the headline number stays put.
  • A plan is added, renamed or removed. A new entry tier below yours can pull small customers away.
  • A limit changes inside a plan. Fewer seats or projects for the same price is a price move in disguise.
  • In ecommerce, a product price drops for a weekend, a bundle appears, or a sale badge goes up on a category of items.

Price extraction on Growth and up

On Growth, Business and Enterprise, WebsiteChange extracts prices from the page you watch, not just the text around them. For a SaaS pricing table, that means each plan's price and billing period. For a product page, it means the current price and the stock status.

Extraction lets you treat prices as data. You can sort, compare and export them instead of reading screenshots. Pair it with element watching: click the pricing table or the price block on the snapshot, and only that part of the page is compared. A new testimonial carousel or blog teaser on the same page will not trigger anything.

Starter includes element watching and ignore rules but not price and stock extraction, which makes it a good fit for tracking a few pricing pages by summary alone.

A price history for every page you watch

Every version of a page is kept with its date, screenshot, text and visual diff, for as long as your plan's history allows: 6 months on Starter, 2 years on Growth, 5 years on Business and without limit on Enterprise. With extraction turned on, you also get a clean price history per page.

That history answers questions people actually ask.

History can be exported to CSV for a spreadsheet or a pricing model, or summarized in a PDF change report on Growth and up.

  • When did this competitor last raise prices, and by how much?
  • How long did their summer discount run?
  • Was the entry plan cheaper than ours when we lost that deal in March?
  • Do they change prices at the start of each quarter or at random?

Alert only when a price or plan changes

The fastest way to make people ignore price alerts is to send them for everything. Set the rules so only meaningful moves reach a person.

Checks run as often as every 15 minutes on Growth, every 5 minutes on Business and every 2 minutes on Enterprise, and hourly at the fastest on Starter.

  • Watch the pricing element, not the whole page.
  • Add ignore rules for currency switchers, countdown timers and "most popular" badges that move around.
  • Send only medium and high importance changes as instant alerts, and the rest in a daily digest.
  • Route SaaS pricing changes to product marketing and ecommerce price drops to the pricing manager, through email, Slack, Microsoft Teams or a webhook.

What a price alert looks like

Here is the shape of an alert for a SaaS competitor whose pricing page changed overnight.

Field Value
Page Competitor pricing page, pricing table element
Summary Pro plan price raised from 79 to 99 USD per month; annual discount removed
Importance High
Extracted prices Starter 29 USD, Pro 99 USD, Team 249 USD, per month
Evidence Before and after screenshots, highlighted text diff

And for a retailer watching a rival's product page: "Price dropped from 349 to 299 USD; stock status changed from in stock to low stock." Both alerts link to the full version so anyone can verify the change in seconds.

Growth, Business and Enterprise. Starter watches pricing pages and summarizes changes but does not extract prices or stock status.

No. We only read publicly reachable pages and never log in on your behalf.

As far as your plan's history: 6 months on Starter, 2 years on Growth, 5 years on Business and unlimited on Enterprise.

Not if you watch the pricing element only. Noise such as banners, dates and counters is also filtered before any change is reported.
