MAP price monitoring software for brands that sell through resellers

A minimum advertised price policy only works if someone checks what resellers actually advertise. WebsiteChange gives brands MAP price monitoring software built on public product pages: it extracts the advertised price from each reseller's page, flags when it drops, and keeps a dated full-page screenshot of what the page showed, so your channel team works from records instead of memory.

What MAP monitoring involves

Brands that publish a minimum advertised price, often called MAP, need three things from a monitoring setup.

  • Coverage. Every reseller page for every product under the policy, checked on a regular schedule.
  • Precision. The advertised price as a number, not a paragraph of page text.
  • Evidence. A dated record of the page as a shopper saw it, kept long enough for your follow-up process.

Doing this by hand across dozens of resellers and hundreds of product pages is slow, and the screenshots people save manually rarely carry a reliable date.

Advertised price extraction

On Growth, Business and Enterprise, WebsiteChange extracts the price from each product page as a value. Each check renders the page like a browser, so a price loaded by a script after the page opens is still read.

Set an alert rule for the team that handles reseller follow up, and send instant alerts for high importance changes.

  • Select the price element on the snapshot, or enter a CSS selector for the reseller's template.
  • Every change in the extracted value is stored with the date and time it was seen.
  • An AI model writes a short summary, such as "Advertised price lowered from 249 to 219 USD; strikethrough price 249 added", and scores importance.
  • Changes in a promotional badge or sale label are reported alongside the price when they sit in the watched element.

A dated screenshot for every version

Each check stores a full-page screenshot together with the text and HTML structure. When the price changes, the visual diff highlights the price area on the screenshot, and the version carries its capture date. Your channel manager can open the version, see exactly what the reseller page showed, and attach it to a notice or a reseller file.

History is kept for 2 years on Growth, 5 years on Business and without a limit on Enterprise, so a pattern of repeated price drops by one reseller stays visible over time. Open any past version through website archive tools.

A workspace per reseller group

Brands often split resellers by channel or by region. Workspaces keep those lists apart, each with its own monitors, alerts and people.

  • Growth includes 3 workspaces, for example authorized online dealers, marketplaces and regional distributors.
  • Business includes 15 workspaces, plus roles, SSO and an audit log for larger channel teams.
  • Enterprise has unlimited workspaces for brands with many product lines.

CSV export and API

Export the price history of a workspace as CSV for a monthly channel review or for your sales operations team. On Growth the read API lets you pull versions into your own reporting, and Business and Enterprise include the full API, so you can add a new reseller's product pages in bulk. On Growth and up you can also produce a PDF change report covering a reseller or a period.

A practical setup for a MAP program

For general price tracking beyond MAP, see competitor price monitoring and price monitoring software. For product availability on the same pages, see stock availability monitoring.

  • Start with your top products and the resellers who sell the most of them.
  • Use one monitor per reseller product page, with the price element selected.
  • Check every 15 minutes on Growth or every 5 minutes on Business for products that see frequent promotions, and hourly or daily for the rest.
  • Add ignore rules for review counts and shipping banners inside the watched element.
  • Route alerts per workspace, so each channel manager hears only about their resellers.

What WebsiteChange does and does not do

WebsiteChange reads only public product pages, respects robots.txt, spaces requests per host, never logs in and never bypasses access controls. Prices shown only in a cart or after login are outside what it can see. It records what a page advertised and when; it does not decide whether a reseller breached your policy and is not legal advice. Your team and your counsel decide how to act on the record.

No. WebsiteChange reads the public product page as a visitor sees it, without adding items to a cart or logging in.

Growth covers 250 pages, Business 1,000 and Enterprise 5,000. Each reseller product page counts as one page.

Yes. Every version carries the date and time of the check, along with the extracted price and the full-page screenshot.

No. Price and stock extraction starts on Growth. On Starter, product pages are still watched as text with a screenshot of every version.
